Categories

A category identifies a class of attributes. The category is typically the name of the tab that displays the attributes.

Note: Items that are not found on a tab (for example, name, serial number, active flag) are assigned a category that is not a tab name.

Examples: Tabs and Categories

The following examples show how categories correspond to tabs:

• Because disk space appears on the Attributes tab, its category is Attributes.
• Because IP address appears on the Inventory tab, its category is Inventory.
• Milestone appears in the General category.
• A Standard CI appears in the Classification category.
• Relationships appear in the Relationship category.
