Company Types

Company types are classifications for the suppliers of the hardware, software, and services associated with your system. This allows you to organize your vendors and select them according to the services they provide.

To create a new company type:

1. From the Administration tab, navigate to Service Desk, Application Data, Configuration Items, Company Types.

   The Company Type List page displays.

2. Click Create New.

   The Create New Company Type page displays.

3. Fill in the following fields:
   • Name -- Identifies the company type. For example, Lessor indicates the vendor leases their product, Provider indicates the vendor offers network services.
   • Record Status -- Indicates whether the company type is active or inactive.
   • Description -- Provides a detailed description of the company type. You can use this field to further identify the products/services offered by companies assigned this type.
4. Click one of the following buttons:
   • Save -- Saves the company type and closes the window.
   • Cancel -- Closes the window without saving any changes
   • Reset -- Returns all fields to their previously saved values.
