Organizations describe internal departments and divisions or external companies. You can assign organizations to tickets, CI classes to identify the company with which a customer is associated).
When you assign a default service type to an organization, that service type is assigned to tickets whenever the organization is specified.
You can define CIs for organizations to specify the hardware, software, and services that the organization uses. Linking CIs to an organization (shared assets) supplements the feature of linking assets directly to a contact (private assets). When you designate a contact as the affected end user of a request, you can then select a CI for the request from separate lists of shared and private assets.
If you use multi-tenancy, you can consider arranging your organizations in a tenant hierarchy for data sharing purposes.
