Update an Activity Notification

You can edit an activity notification that has already been created. Activity notifications enable you to define notifications for specific activities. An activity is an action that someone performs, such as resolving a service desk ticket or sending a managed survey.

To update an activity notification

  1. On the Administration tab, browse to Notifications, Activity Notifications.

    The Activity Notification List appears. You can modify the activity notifications that appear on this list, or define your own.

    Note: The "Document about to expire" activity notification is activated seven days before the actual expiration date that displays in the knowledge document.

  2. Select an activity notification.

    The Activity Notification Detail page appears.

  3. Click Edit.

    The Update Activity Notification page appears.

  4. Complete the fields as appropriate. The following fields require explanation:
    Symbol

    Defines a unique identifier for this record.

    Internal

    Specifies if the problem type is an internal default problem type.

    Record Status

    Defines if the database record is active or inactive.

    Description

    Describes the activity notification.

    Object Type

    Specifies the name of the object to which the attribute applies. Click the drop-down list to select the Object Type.

    Related Ticket Activity

    Notifies the appropriate contacts when the activity log is generated for related tickets (requests/incidents/problems, change orders, and issues).

    Note: If you use multi-tenancy, do the following:

    • Specify the appropriate tenant type from the Related Ticket Activity drop-down list.
    • Enter the name of the tenant in the tenant field, or click the search icon to search for a tenant.
  5. (Optional) Update the tabs at the bottom of the page.
  6. Click Save, Close window.

    The modified activity notification appears in the Activity Notification List when you redisplay the list.
