You can define a manual activity notification that is sent for a specific activity. An activity is an action that someone performs, such as resolving a service desk ticket or sending a managed survey. Even daily activities such as returning a call, canceling or closing a record, increasing priority, or updating status can result in a notification being sent.
Manual notifications let you do the following:
Note: If multi-tenancy is installed, select the appropriate tenant from the drop-down list. The public (shared) option creates the object for all tenants.
To update manual activity notification
The Activity Notification List appears.
The Manual Activity Notification page appears.
Specifies if the activity notification is available to internal employees or visible to end users.
Defines if the database record is active or inactive.
Describes if the problem is an internal problem type.
Specifies the name of the object to which the attribute applies. An object attribute can have only one activity notification. You can select one of the following Object Types:
Note: The Object Type only applies for objects selected in the Activity Valid for section for Manual Notify Activity Notifications.
Lists notification rules that are defined for this activity notification.
Defines a survey notification that lets the recipient of this activity notification click a URL to view a survey. Surveys let you collect and analyze customer feedback.
Note: The Survey tab applies to all object types except Knowledge Documents, Knowledge Document Comments, and Knowledge Report Card. When specified from the Object Type list, the Emails tab appears instead of the Survey tab on the Update Activity Notification page. From the Emails tab, you can search for one or more email messages to associate with this notification or define a new one.
Note: The following tabs appear for Requests/Incidents/Problems, Change Orders, or Issues object types only.
Lists the events that are defined for this activity notification. The Update Events button lets you add a new event to an activity notification.
Specifies the object contact types, such as Affected End User. The object type appears as an Available Recipient on manual notifications. When you add the object type to the Recipients, contacts that belong appear as recipients.
Specifies the contacts that you want to receive the notification by default. These contacts appear as available recipients on the manual notifications.
Note: You can click the Update buttons on each tab to add contact object types or contacts to the default recipient list.
Click Save.
The Activity Notification List page appears.
The activity notification is updated.
