Update a Notification Rule

You can edit a notification rule that has already been created. A notification rule lets you set guidelines for the system to follow when sending notifications.

To update a notification rule

  1. On the Administration tab, browse to Notifications, Notification Rules.

    The Notification Rule List page appears.

  2. Select a notification rule.

    The Notification Rule Detail page opens.

  3. Click Edit.

    The Update Notification Rule page opens.

  4. Update the appropriate fields.
  5. (Optional) Click Condition to display the list of macros you can use to define conditions for this rule.

    Note: An active notification rule without a condition notifies all contacts every time the activity occurs

  6. Click Message Template.

    The Message Template List page appears.

  7. Choose the template you want to use for this rule. This step is required.
  8. Specify the contacts to notify using the following tabs: Object Contacts, Contacts, Contact Types.
  9. Click Save.

    The Notification Rule Detail page appears.

  10. Click Close.

    The updated notification rule appears in the Notification Rule List when you redisplay the list.
