You can edit an object contact notification that has already been created. Object contact notifications allow you to notify recipients based on the current value of a field on the ticket. For example, you can identify the To field to help ensure that notification goes to the person currently identified in the To field, even if the value changed after the ticket was defined.
To update an object contact notification
The Object Contact Notification List appears.
The Object Contact Notification Detail window opens.
The Update Object Contact Notification window opens.
Defines a unique identifier for the object contact notification.
Specifies if the object contact notification is active or inactive.
Provides the name of the object contact notification (in the Symbol field) in Majic, which is internal CA code. If the Object Type is Issue or Workflow Task, the attribute name is simply "assignee," or "requestor," or "group." These are the attribute names in the chg objects and they map to fields in the Change_Request tables.
If the Object Type is an Issue Activity log, the attribute name must start with the attribute name in the activity log object that links it to a specific instantiation of the chg object. Therefore, the attribute name could be change_id.group.
Describes the object contact notification..
Shows the name (including the path if required) of the program or executable script that runs, and any applicable switches. For example:
Launchit c:\\backup\\applog.bat
or
pdm_mail -m
Note: You need two backslash (\) characters to format a Windows path because the backslash character is the CA SDM escape character.
The Object Contact Notification Detail window appears.
The updated object contact notification method appears in the Object Contact Notification List when you redisplay the list.
