Property Validation Rules

You have the option of defining custom properties for:

• Change Categories
• Issue Categories
• Request/Incident/Problem Areas

For each property you define, you have the option of defining a validation rule, to control the values the user is allowed to select. If you do not define a property validation rule, any value that the user enters is accepted.

The GUI control for entering a property value is presented to the user as one of the following:

• Text Entry Box—The user can enter freeform text. No validation is performed.
• Checkbox—The user selects checked (Yes) or cleared (No). Selections are validated.
• Dropdown List—The user selects from a predefined list of options. Selections are validated.
