Search for a KPI

You can specify filter criteria to limit the KPI List to the KPIs of interest, or you can click Search with no specified filter criteria to see all available KPIs.

To search for a KPI

  1. Click CA SDM, KPIs on the Administration tab.

    The KPI List page appears.

Note: The KPI List page shows only the active KPIs. All of the predefined KPIs that are installed with CA SDM have their status set to inactive. To see inactive KPIs, filter the list as explained in the following steps.

  2. Click Show Filter.

The KPI List page displays the filter fields.

  3. Complete one or more of the following fields to filter the list:
    Name

Specifies the display name of the KPI record.

    Version

Identifies the version number of the KPI record. Each time a KPI is updated, the version number is automatically incremented and the old version is set to inactive. Multiple KPIs with the same name cannot be active at the same time.

    Type

Identifies the KPI record type as System, Stored Query, or SQL.

Active (Status column heading on the KPI List)

Identifies the KPI record as Active or Inactive.

    Metric Type

Identifies the type of data the KPI produces. The Metric Type for Stored Query KPIs is always Count. The Metric Type for System KPIs can be Count or Duration. The Metric Type for SQL KPIs can be Count, Sum, Max, or Duration.

    Description

Describes the purpose of the KPI. If you want to limit the list to KPIs with a particular text string in the Description field, specify the string. You can use wildcards in this field.

Note: You can click the More icon to display the Additional Search Arguments field. This field is intended only for expert users who understand SQL and Majic and can use it to specify search arguments that are not available in the standard search filter fields. You can enter a SQL WHERE clause in this field to specify an additional search argument.

  4. Click Search.

The KPI List page is populated with the records that match your search criteria.
