Use a Notification Phrase for Email Auto-Replies

You can use a single notification phrase in an email auto-reply. This use lets you standardize plain- or HTML-formatted text for email replies. When a notification phrase contains explicit lines or formatting, or paragraph breaks, do not use it for both plain text and HTML. Message templates and email auto-replies cannot share notification phrases that contain macros.

To use a notification phrase in an email auto-replies

  1. On the Administration tab, select Email, Mailbox Rules.

    The Mailbox Rules List page appears and lists rules.

  2. Click Create New (or select an existing rule).

    The Mailbox Rule Detail page appears.

  3. Complete the fields as appropriate. Use a common notification phrase for the automatic responses in a Success or Failure field as in the following example:
    Thank you for submitting your request.
    @{notification_phrase[RequestReply].phrase}

  4. Click Save.

    The mailbox rule is created and in effect. The phrase appears in replies to email delivered to any mailboxes that includes the rule.
