Configuration Item Tabs

The following tabs can be available on the Create New Configuration Item, Configuration Item Detail, and Update Configuration Item pages:

CMDB Attributes

Attributes

Itemizes and manages CI attributes associated with the class that is assigned. The CI Family determines what appears on the Attributes tab.

CMDB Relationships

Displays relationships for this CI. All links display the CI Relationship Detail page.

Versioning

Displays and manages the history of the CI, associated snapshots, milestones, and other views. Versioning also displays pending Change Specifications associated with Change Orders. For example, view details about the future state of a CI.

Reconciliation

Lists all active CIs that are ambiguous with this CI. You can check Exclude Ambiguity to remove this CI from ambiguity calculations and ambiguity management. For more information, see CI Reconciliation in the Administration Guide.

Inventory

Stores detailed inventory information about the CI.

Service

Stores detailed service information related to servicing a CI.

Contacts, Location, Organizations

Contacts

Stores detailed contact information about the contacts responsible for the CI.

Location

Stores detailed information about the geographical location of the CI.

Organizations

Stores detailed organization information about the organizations responsible for the CI.

Related Tickets

Issues

Displays information about related CA SDM tickets that are associated with the CI.

Incidents

Displays information about related CA SDM tickets that are associated with the CI.

Problems

Displays information about related CA SDM tickets that are associated with the CI.

Requests

Displays information about related CA SDM tickets that are associated with the CI.

Change Orders

Displays information about related CA SDM tickets that are associated with the CI.

Change Specifications

Displays information about related change specifications that are associated with the CI.

The user can also create change specifications for this CI directly from this tab. Change specifications are highlighted in red if they have failed verification or require manual verification.

Verification Log

Displays the change verification activity history for this CI. The log show details about the policy and actions taken when change verification was in effect for the CI. For example, this log identifies a CI where CACF detected a variance or rogue change.

Maintenance Windows

Displays global maintenance windows that are associated with the CI.

Service Contracts

Displays information about service contracts that are associated with the CI, to identify the level of support the item receives.

Activities

Displays the activity log for the CI. You can display the analyst or activity details.

Knowledge Management

Knowledge

Lists Knowledge documents that are related to the CI.
